“I have known Rose
E. Seavey for many years as a colleague and friend through the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses. Her enthusiasm
to continue education is proven by attendance at organizational meetings on a global, national, and local level.
As she strives to maintain her own educational needs, she passionately shares this information through presentations delivered
to healthcare professionals, again at all levels from novice to mature audiences. The knowledge and skills Rose demonstrates
are in O.R., Infection Control, and Sterile Processing; topics that go hand-in-hand.”
“The most
recent presentation I attended was for the Florida Council of periOperative Registered Nurses on "how the OR
and SPD Can Work Better Together". It was a strong message delivered in her light-hearted manner with role-playing
and power point presentation to easily make you remember the important information.
I have also read
numerous articles Rose has written and had published in the Journals. These articles show the consistent research she
pursues to stay abreast in her specialties.”
“I highly recommend Rose E. Seavey RN, BS, MBA,
CNOR, ACSP
as a consultant in her specialty fields.”

“As
the person who first brought the InfoDot™ bar code label for surgical instrument tracking to the medical marketplace,
I needed to identify several industry leaders who would incorporate the use of this new technology into their specific surgical
instrument tracking software application. Rose Seavey was an early adopter of our product and a significant resource during
our product introduction. She understood the value of the InfoDot and provided professional feedback throughout their implementation
at The Children’s Hospital in Denver.”
‘Rose is one of the first people
I call when I need insight into the needs and requirements of sterile processing. Her willingness to help others is only exceeded
by her exceptional experience and industry knowledge.”

“Rose
Seavey, Director of Sterile Processing at The Children’s Hospital in Denver has improved the Quality of Patient Care,
enhanced Patient Safety and has been recognized for leading a state of art operation. She provides leadership
to various community initiatives: conducting classes to assist Sterile Processing Personnel to achieve national certification
as Sterile Processing Technicians; leading an annual regional conference sponsored by the Denver Area Nurses and Sterile Processing
Professionals focused on best practices, and OR and SPD working together to improve Quality and Patient
Safety.”
“Recently, she opened a new and dramatically expanded facility which features the best sterile
processing technology. Her involvement in the planning, design, equipment selection, staff training and management of
the startup was essential to the success of the new department and the hospital. It has become a model for other facilities
considering building or rebuilding their sterile processing operations.”
“Finally, she worked with
many regional and national organizations seeking to define, advance and implement best practice for sterile processing within
the structure of Perioperative Services. Her credentials and knowledge as an operating room nurse and a sterile processing
professional have had a dramatic impact upon the hospital and the community.”

“I have known Rose Seavey for many years and quickly came to the realization that
this lady was truly an expert. Having a predominantly operating room background I sometimes had questions about sterile
processing and instrument preparation and that I just did not have the experience to be able to answer. One quick email
or phone call to Rose and I learned what I needed to know. In addition to her vast store of knowledge she is quick to
respond and no matter what the question she instantly makes you feel that no question is insignificant. Rose is truly
a resource to the entire sterile processing profession, however having a nursing background and having managed both SPD and
the Operating Room she is able to understand all sides of an issue. Rose is a valued member of the AAMI steam sterilization
hospital working practices group. As co-chair of this group I can attest to her expertise. Rose has also achieved recognition
within the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and was instrumental in creating a specialty assembly for
nurses who have interest and or responsibility for instrument processing. I am privileged to be her colleague and appreciate
her willingness to share her knowledge.”

“I
have known Rose for approximately 15 years and have enjoyed my relationship with her. I have used her as a resource
several times during the last 15 years to help me strategize how to deal with or solve a problem. I have
asked questions of her and received opinions and I have used her expertise thru AORN to verify information and answer questions.
Rose was president of the ASHCSP for a year and she did an excellent job while serving in that role. I wish you well
in your new endeavor and I know you will do an excellent job.”

thinker and is always seeking ways to improve systems and deliver higher quality care to patients. Rose is a tremendous
professional resource and has extensive knowledge about current trends and regulatory requirements. Rose is a

It has been said that
in any sizeable organization, only about 2% of employees are truly outstanding.
Rose, you are one of those people. We know this because:
You are recognized as such in your own department at Children's.
You are recognized as such by your peers and acquaintances
in other departments in our hospital.
You are recognized as outstanding by others in your profession across the country and you are often
asked to speak or write articles about pertinent topics.
You are a published author many, many times.
You have lead your department to be recognized as one of the best in the country.
You are a member of
the AAMI Sterilization Practices Subcommittee and have been a major influence for the final draft of ST79.
You have been a leader in AORN, ASHCSP,
and our own Rocky Mountain Chapter. You have been president of ASHCSP, and our Rocky Mountain Chapter, and have taken leadership
roles in DAORN.
You have made it a professional
goal to know what needs to be done, and how to provide the necessary justification and gain the necessary support to get those
things done. How to make friends and influence people has been your strong point.
You have always been willing to share your knowledge
with others and you have supported and encouraged education at every level. You are always positive, exciting to be around,
and a wonderful role model.
It has been a pleasure
working with you.

I
have known Rose for over five years through the Association or periOperative Registered Nurses. Her knowledge in the
areas of OR and sterile processing with regard to relationships, processes, and management are phenomenal. I consider
myself fortunate to have Rose to call on when I have a sterile processing question. Rose was instrumental to me while
I opened an ambulatory surgery center. She shared with me what I needed to have in place with regard to table-top autoclave
monitoring and training of nursing staff to perform the decontamination, disinfection, processing and sterilization of eye,
ENT, and plastic surgery instrumentation. The transition from a hospital sterile processing department to an ASC with
two table-top autoclaves was not an easy adjustment. Rose identified the parameters that could be met using
this type of sterilizer and made the transition much easier. Most recently, I also had the pleasure
of serving with Rose on the AORN Nominating Committee from 2005-2007. During that time, I admired her ability to look
at succession planning in leadership in the short and long term. This is something she is well versed at in the clinical
and association level.
